Garden stories

It all started with an interest for stones. Beautiful colors, the sparkle when the light hits the surface and transcends through the mineral, the beauty of nature.

I wanted to make beautiful rings with natural stones – the ring itself in real silver, and precious – but not too exclusive natural stones. Sustainable rings that last a long time, rings made by material that last a lifetime.

I wanted the stones to be rough and natural, and the silver to be organic and smooth. Still I wanted an exclusive look. I started designing, making the first prototypes in steel wire and gravel.

A talented silver smith from Lund, Gun Sundberg Bengtsson, helped me with the silver prototypes, and finally – after a lot of testing and discussions, with family and friends – the abstract vision in my head became reality. My Garden stories ring collection was born.

When the design was set, I got help with the casting from Peter Andersson in Abbekås at the very south Swedish coast. He made a mould of my prototype and casted a set of rings in two sizes – which easily can be changed in size.

So here they are – every ring is handmade and unique.  The shape and appearance of the stones vary and no one looks the same. The transparent ”white” stones are Herkimer diamonds – beautiful in their clarity and how they refract the light – and some have small inclusions of coal. I use different colored stones ; the blueish Apatit, the green Peridot, the light green-blueish Fluorit and the sparkling black Magnetit.
